In 1993, the European Union promulgated regulations to determine 700ml as the standard capacity, so most of the whisky bottles in the world have become 700ml. However, the United States is still maverick and has always insisted on using 750 ml glass bottles, so the standard capacity of American whiskey bottles is 750ml.

Typically, a cask of whisky yields 150-250 bottles of 70cl bottle whiskey.In addition to EU general 700ml and American standard 750ml whisky, we sometimes see 1000ml and 500ml whisky. There is also an ultra-small whisky, only 50ml, which is a small glass (One Shot). 500ml of whisky can be understood as 10 Shots.
